Look around your workplace if you have a Corporate America “job”. If you pay attention, especially where worker come together like the lunchroom or water cooler, 90% of what comes out of people’s mouths are complaints if you are unlucky enough to have a “job”.
“I can’t stand her”, “I can’t stand him”, “The pay stinks here”, “Did you hear about if they other company is hiring?” “I can’t believe what he/she said about me!” “I can’t believe we don’t have dental coverage.”, and so on. These folks with “jobs” have an almost endless ability to whine and complain about the same things day after day.
It becomes like the main hobby and a common frontier to vent and talk to someone. If you want to talk to the new girl/boy and lack a subject to bring up, you can ALWAYS talk about the topic “This Job Sucks”, and you are well invited to any conversation.
It is so silly as the employees discuss this. They lower their voices in the lunchroom if they see a shadow walk in to make sure it is not their immediate boss. They live and breathe in fear! It is the same as if these people with jobs became the ultimate cowards and lost all hope and free will. They feel destined to be depressed.
If your boss is a female and gets a new haircut, it is with 100% certainty that everyone below her will crow about how the new hairstyle is so wonderful and becoming (all the while smirking). If you always have to brown nose and you can’t tell the boss your true feelings, then what have you become?
You are no different that any servant or slave that built the Great Pyramids. Sure they did good work and built a marvel, but did the Great Pyramids help any of the slaves who gave their lives to build it? If you slave away at minimum wage at McDonald’s or Walmart, do you get any stock or have you built anything of your own?
Well, at least if you are a cart pusher you can say that you performed a service. But at what cost and for whose benefit? If you get hurt on the job, Walmart surely is known to just fire you. They won’t take any excuses. Faceless corporations ALL do the same thing to their workers.
