I wrote before that Society has you believing in all the wrong things. One big culprit is the once semi decent TV channel, MTV. With all the music videos, before, you can only wonder what went wrong. I can’t bear it and how it is programming our youth. What is it supposed to be? The dominate channel for youth that once played music “rock” videos has become a channel with underage teens drinking and smoking crack and promoting everything “ghetto”. Kids wearing their pants down so low as to always show their underwear and their being unable completely to run to catch a bus (lest they trip). Almost everyone on MTV (including the producers), in my opinion, is high on alcohol and crack cocaine. It was semi decent when they played rock music, but now it is dominated by hip hop and rap. In my opinion, most of Hip Hop and Rap is rhyming about getting ho’s, getting high and setting nightclubs on fire. The MTV programs PROMOTE drug use and alcohol intoxication and hold those who get into trouble in high esteem! I can’t even talk about shows like “Jersey Shore”, “16 and Pregnant” (I wrote about how many participants get pregnant JUST TO AUDITION for the show!) “The Real World”; it has stupefied me beyond imagination and words. MTV is 24/7 coverage of soul sucking music sung by people that failed kindergarten that are getting paid a lot of money to spend on ridiculous looking jewelry (consider a song I just heard by the Black Eyed Peas…”I got my money, let’s spend it up, burn up the roof, burn up the town, and then we’ll do it again, Let’s ‘do’ it”…(or something similar). These are the only things that MTV sometimes does right:
1. Play decent rock music (sometimes). (In thirty years, we went from The Beatles “I Want to Hold Your Hand” to Cee Lo’s “Fu*k You”). Amusing, but this regression…has me saddened.
2. Demonstrate to Aliens that Earth is not a place to visit (They say the best proof of intelligent life in the Universe is that no one has tried to contact us).
MTV has made it cool for having kids thinking that they are “guidos” and ghetto, going out in public and making complete idiots of themselves while getting arrested for multiple infractions. MTV also made certain annoying celebrities increasingly famous, even more famous such as: All the Cast of the Jersey Shore, people like Charlie Sheen, Britney Spears (ongoing train wreck), Lindsay Lohan, and Jessica Simpson (the girl who thought because she ate “Chicken of the Sea” she was eating chicken and not tuna). Just about all of these people should just shut up. I read about Katy Perry complaining that she cannot stand being famous anymore…as she spoke during an interview with Teen Magazine while she is promoting a summer movie about her fame called “Part of Me”. The irony is just so classic. I cannot write anymore, too many stupid things, so little time!
