We have all heard that saying, “If only I could have a little more free time… then I could be happy.” So many people are led away from the truth…thinking that having nothing to do will give them joy. But the truth is that researchers into the Science of Happiness found was that more leisure did not equate to happiness. Rather, people did not know what to do with all of that leisure time. Keep keen to this scientific fact and do not seek after total leisure. You definitely need leisure, but you still need to work. None other than Sigmund Freud noted that the two most important ingredients for a happy life are “love” and “work”. Just keeping this in mind will make your working days far more tolerable and smooth, knowing that if you just finish what is in your “Inbox”, the absence of “things to do” will not bring lasting happiness. What the researchers found was that “busy” people ended up living better and longer…and happier.
