You have heard of this saying so very many times in the past. With America as busy as it is, people should endeavor to listen more and really try to understand what the other person is saying. Everyone seems to be taking turns NOT listening to each other. Each person is just waiting to utter their response. Next time you speak to someone, don’t just hold your breath waiting for the other person to finish talking so you can talk. And please slow down how fast you talk. It seems that from what I have observed, fast speech is inversely proportional to peace.
Blaise Pascal once wrote “It is a monstrous thing to see people raging or despairing over mere affronts or inconveniences, while being indifferent to things of gravest import.” Be ever so careful about picking your battles. Desperate people are always a sure sign of unhappiness. Again, life is not a Long Emergency to be suffered, it is rather a divine experience to be lived. If you can stay impartial to the inevitable “bad days” as well as embracing the “good days”, your life will take a new meaning towards lasting bliss.
