You are here today, gone tomorrow. Do not be fooled into object permance here.
At the core, we are all love, all made of Hydrogen as an analogy to the Sun. Through a magical force, the elements divide and combine to form different elements which serve different purposes. But at the core, they all protons, neutrons, and electrons. Be loose and flexible. Do not ever be rigid. You’ll find you get the most approval when you least care about getting it. Take this analogy, the tighter you squeeze your hands around water, the less you have of it.
If you become angry or frustrated, consider that a gift to think of it in a positive way. Whenever you are angry and thus upset, it tells you where your attachments are and what you have to work on. If you really reach maturity, think out it, nothing will bother you. Look at the relative happiness of the elderly. They don’t take things so seriously, as a general rule. Sure you will find the occasional elderly curmudgeon, but the elderly have learned a wisdom that only a lifetime of going through anger and frustration and learning to let it go have allowed.
Really embrace the fact that you are a spirit having a body rather than the other way around. You have always been a spiritual being. You are having a physical existence, and you are not a physical being having an occasional spiritual moment. The closer you get to awakening, the more you will recognize that fact. You will actually begin to “feel” your spirit, just as you do your arms and legs. When you pray, focus, or meditate, just feel the spirit inside you. You will be able to recognize that fact, and understand that you have an immutable soul and that life is a mystery to be lived.
Don’t Look Back…Short, Intermediate, Long Term, the Past is too often like a snake or rabid dog that you should try to be free from. Most of your recalled thoughts about the past will be negative. Life already is so fleeting. Do you really want to give up your precious present moments to a monster of the past that continues to haunt you?
