Sooner or later though, you will find yourself. You can only lie to yourself for so long. The truth always comes out, given enough time. And I hope sooner, you will say to yourself, “No matter what, I am going to be happy, and just be myself.” “Even if I am rejected, condemned, not accepted, not respected… it does not matter. I cannot pretend to be someone that I am not.”
Once you declare solemnly and with an exclamation point that you will be free from the anchor and weight of the crowd… once you accept your complete natural being, will feel such a profound lifting of your soul. It will be like a heavy anchor just got cut off from your boat, and your sails will lift, and you will soar fasting and further than you could imagine.
Society tells you from when you are a child the best schools to get into, the best careers to get into, showcasing on television new sports cars, motorcycles, and homes too shape your motivation to get them as early on as they can, because they know that once a “seed” is planted, it just grows taller and taller.
If in your heart you are a poet and want to become a poet, Society will come and tell you there are no jobs in poetry so you had better become someone else in your life that really is not you. Society is powerful in its efforts to guide you this way. Not only will they showcase the fabulous lifestyles of those with a business degree and those with a law degree, but they will make absent the star “poets” on regular media. You may be able to find them on PBS stations…the poets, but they are never glamorized.
